Random Pastel Color Generator
What are Pastel colors?
Pastel colors are soft, low-saturation hues often described as "milky" or "washed out." They're achieved by adding a significant amount of white to the base color, resulting in lighter, soothing tones such as baby blue or light pink. These colors are often associated with spring, infancy, and tranquility.
How are random Pastel colors generated?
For every random generator mode on our website, we have a set of constraints specified in the OKHSL color space.
The constraints used for Pastel colors are:
Color Channel (OKHSL) | Range |
---|---|
Hue | Full Range |
Saturation | 30% - 70% |
Lightness | 70% - 90% |
For random Pastel colors, the Saturation range is limited to medium values to produce a Pastel-like Saturation, and the Lightness range is limited to high values to get the Pastel look. The Hue is not constrained to produce a full range of Pastel colors.
The set of constraints was chosen and fine-tuned based on manual testing and could be improved in the future. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to drop us a message with any suggestions!
